Aluma Protect 4400/4401 is a 2 part strontium chromate primer designed to form the ideal barrier coat over roughed bare aluminum. This is the appropriate epoxy to use when aluminum has been sandblasted, sanded or ground so that a tooth is present. For smooth aluminum, choose Pettit Metal Primer 6455/044. AlumaProtect provides maximum resistance to fresh or salt water, thus eliminating corrosion. This complete coating system resists water, industrial chemical fumes, and very humid environments. Intended to be used as a primary coat over bare aluminum hulls and outdrives. AlumaProtect 4400,4401 will chalk if not topcoated. Two coats are recommended over sandblasted aluminum. Then overcoat with Pettit Protect 4700/4701 for optimum results before finishing antifouling paint.

Smooth finish provides an excellent bonding surface for additional primers or topcoats
A multipurpose primer designed for use as a base coat whenever the surface to be painted is aged, cracked, checked, pitted, or in any way less than smooth. It can be applied to fiberglass, wood, properly etched metal, and previously painted surfaces. EZ Prime fills imperfections fast, dries quickly, and is easy to sand. Its high-solids formula has excellent filling and covering properties that produce a smooth, prepared surface often times in just a one-coat application. So versatile, it can be used below all Old Salem, Z-Spar, Shipendec, and Pettit single and 2-part topside enamels. Not for use below the waterline. EZ Prime can be tinted to better match the finish enamel so there is not such a striking contrast between the two colors.
H2 Prime is a low VOC, two-part water-based epoxy primer designed for use as an adhesion promoter with Hydrocoat, Hydrocoat SR, Hydrocoat Eco, and Neptune5. When used with Bio-Blue Surface Prep 92, this non-sanding system is VOC compliant in all areas. This system does not void hull warranties against osmotic blistering. H2Prime dries to a hard, durable coating that provides additional protection against scuffing and scratching. Extended over-coating times mean easier scheduling and a lower chance of paint failure due to missed windows.

It reduces water absorption making it an excellent choice for osmotic blister prevention and repair. Its high-solids formula allows for quicker and easier application with fewer coats necessary for effective protection. It also offers dependable corrosion protection on all underwater metals. Like most epoxies, it should be topcoated to eliminate chalking.
